Job summary

HSBC in Poland is seeking a Full Stack Engineer in Payments Services IT to design, build and maintain API and microservice components that power customer payment journeys.

You will work with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Istio) and traditional tools (Java, Bash, Jenkins) to deliver reliable CI/CD pipelines and production-readiness artifacts. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive PLN salary range.

Qualifications

• Apply cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka and Istio Service Mesh.
• Use traditional technologies such as Bash, Groovy, Java, Unix/Linux, Jenkins and GitHub.
• Design, build and maintain distributed containerised platforms.
• Deliver CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments.
• Produce clear API and microservice documentation.
• Apply engineering standards through code reviews and architecture alignment.
• Collaborate with Tech Architects, Scrum Leads, QAs and PMs to deliver outcomes.
• Support production readiness with runbooks, walkthroughs and release controls.

Responsibilities

• Create and update API and microservice designs and supporting documentation.
• Deliver high-quality code that supports customer payment journeys.
• Champion adoption of new technologies within the engineering team.
• Review and sign off user stories and low-level designs with BAs and Tech Architects.
• Perform code reviews and ensure engineering standards align to architecture principles.
• Partner with IT Project Management to shape delivery plans and track progress.
• Resolve delivery blockers and keep stakeholders updated on risks.
• Create production support walk-throughs and release checklists.
