Job summary

EPAM is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java with Python) to join a high-impact engineering team delivering enterprise-grade backend solutions for a major global client in financial services. You will contribute to a cloud-native platform across Azure, containers, and AI-assisted development practices.

This role requires working from the office 3 times a week and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure systems. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills with Java 11+.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Extensive hands-on experience with the Spring Boot / Spring ecosystem.
• Proven experience developing Web and/or REST APIs and message-driven services.
• Experience building and running containerized applications.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including:
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Kubernetes (AKS) and container orchestration
• Compute (VMs) and storage solutions (e.g., Azure Files)
• Solid Linux/Unix skills (shell scripting, system-level understanding)
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) integrated into daily workflows
• Proficiency with GitLab / GitHub and modern IDEs (IntelliJ / VSCode)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in Agile teams (Scrum)
• Fluent English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Python within a cloud-native ecosystem
• Build and evolve RESTful APIs, web services, and message-driven architectures
• Develop and manage containerized applications deployed on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions aligned with business requirements
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity and code quality
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure reliability, performance, and security of backend services in a production environment
• Contribute to engineering best practices across the team and the broader delivery organization
