Job summary

Bayer's Digital Hub Warsaw is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy full‑stack solutions in a regulated Pharma R&D environment, combining software craft with scientific insight. You will drive architectural decisions for scalable systems, collaborate with IT and R&D experts (biology, chemistry, pharmacology), and apply AI‑assisted tools to boost quality and speed.

The role requires a strong university degree in Computer Science or related field and 5–8+ years of experience

Qualifications

• Excellent university degree in Computer Science (or equivalent natural science degree).
• 5–8+ years of professional experience with expert-level skills in at least two modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Kotlin, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Experience with backend development and/or frontend frameworks such as React.js.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containerization, and serverless architecture.
• Hands-on expertise in data engineering and/or data science.
• Deep understanding of Agile, CI/CD, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously deploy complex technical solutions (full stack) in a fast-moving, regulated Pharma R&D environment.
• Drive architectural decisions for scalable systems and contribute hands-on development while working in cross-functional teams with IT and R&D experts (biology, chemistry, pharmacology).
• Define and execute a technical vision for our R&D application landscape with a focus on business value.
• Identify technical risks and gaps, show solution approaches, and guide the team towards robust solutions.
• Introduce new technologies, improve engineering workflows, and challenge existing patterns.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed.
