Job summary

Venn is seeking a senior frontend engineer to build modern web apps that are responsive, performant, and accessible. You will drive frontend architecture decisions, implement API contracts with backend, and write solid tests to ensure quality.

You’ll collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, stay current with front-end trends like TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Jest, and help shape best practices while delivering scalable code for Canadian customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of professional responsive front-end development experience.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build modern web applications that are responsive, performant, and accessible.




• Making key decisions on frontend architecture.




• Writing integration and unit tests.




• Learning the latest front-end technologies and standards to ensure we are always using the best tools and techniques possible.




• Drive creation and maintenance of API contracts between front-end and backend systems.




• Continuously improve our engineering processes, tools, and systems that allow us to scale the code base, productivity, and the team.

What You’ll Need

• Minimum 6+ years of professional responsive front-end development experience.




• Work in a collaborative environment and partner with other cross-disciplinary teams.




• Expert in Javascript and front-end technologies, such as TypeScript, React, Next.js, HTML5, and CSS3.




• Extensive experience with JavaScript testing libraries, including Jest and React Testing Library.




• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs with an eye for good contract design.




• Strong working knowledge of Figma.




• Heavy bias towards usability and user experience.




• Eligible to work in Canada.
