Job summary

Smith+Neu in Wrocław is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to own complex accounting and reporting for Germany. You will work with internal stakeholders, shared service teams, auditors and regulators to drive financial excellence.

The role covers general ledger, month-end close, statutory and tax reporting, intercompany reconciliations, fixed assets, payroll accounting and cash flow forecasting, while supporting governance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Strong experience in General Ledger accounting, month end close activities and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting external audits, statutory reporting and interactions with public authorities or regulatory bodies.
• Fluent English and German, with excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing General Ledger activities, month end close processes, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Supporting statutory and tax reporting requirements, including VAT, EC Sales List and Intrastat submissions.
• Performing intercompany accounting and reconciliations while ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Coordinating audit activities and acting as a key point of contact for external auditors, German authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Supporting fixed assets accounting, payroll-related accounting and cash flow forecasting processes.
• Maintaining accounting master data and contributing to compliance, process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Providing day-to-day finance support to employees and business stakeholders, helping to resolve complex accounting and reporting matters.
