Job summary

ITDS in Kraków is seeking a Senior ETL Data Transformation Delivery Lead to guide end-to-end data transformation initiatives for a major banking client. You will oversee a team of ETL/ELT engineers, ensuring reliable, scalable data solutions and governance.

The role requires banking domain experience, strong ETL tooling skills, and leadership to drive delivery and compliance. Hybrid work with flexible remote days is available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering within the banking industry.
• Strong expertise in Data Transformation and ETL solutions (Informatica, Datastage or Talend).
• Proven track record as a Software Delivery Lead.
• Solid coding and database skills (GCP, Oracle, Python, Spark, shell scripting).
• Experience with Data Warehouses or large-scale data migration projects.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of Data Transformation projects, managing a team of 3–10 ETL/ELT engineers.
• Develop and maintain a delivery roadmap aligned with business needs and use cases.
• Plan resources, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of data solutions.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to ensure requirements are understood and documented.
• Sign off on functional requirements and deliver detailed specs.
• Enforce ETL design principles including CDC, data duplication, and retention standards.
• Implement transverse Data Models in coordination with Data Architects and Product Owners.
• Document all data processes, including files, assets, scheduling, lineage, and RTB workflows.
• Proactively manage technology risks and controls for compliance and stability.
• Oversee RTB incidents, demands, and issues to maintain data ops.

As a Senior ETL Data Transformation Delivery Lead, you will be working for our client, a major player in the banking sector, guiding end-to-end data transformation initiatives. You will oversee a talented team of ETL/ELT engineers, ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable, and compliant data solutions that support critical banking operations. This role offers the chance to shape innovative data architectures while driving continuous improvement in data processes and governance.

Your main responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of Data Transformation projects, managing a team of 3 to 10 ETL/ELT engineers
• Develop and maintain a consistent delivery roadmap aligned with business needs and use cases
• Plan resources, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of data solutions
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and BAs to ensure requirements are clearly understood and thoroughly documented
• Sign off on functional requirements and deliver detailed Functional and Technical specifications
• Enforce ETL design principles, including CDC, data duplication, and regulatory retention standards
• Implement transverse Data Models in coordination with Data Architects and Product Owners
• Document all data processes, including incoming files, data assets, scheduling, data lineage, and RTB workflows
• Proactively manage technology risks and controls, ensuring compliance and operational stability
• Oversee all RTB incidents, demands, and issues to maintain smooth data operations

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering within the banking industry
• Strong expertise in Data Transformation and ETL solutions such as Informatica, Datastage, or Talend
• Proven track record as a Software Delivery Lead, driving successful data projects
• Solid coding and database skills, including GCP, Oracle, Python, Spark, and shell scripting
• Experience with Data Warehouses or large-scale data migration projects
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical documentation

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Certifications in Data Management or Data Engineering
• Experience working with regulatory compliance standards in banking data

Language Required for the role:

• Communicative English (fluent speaking, writing, and comprehension)
