Job Description
Global Logic is looking to add a Senior Embedded Systems Developer (Zephyr RTOS) to its team.
In this role, you will be part of a distributed team that implements the core firmware for an innovative e‑bike ecosystem. The work is focused on creating the intelligent, low‑level software that runs on resource‑constrained, connected embedded devices, allowing a mobile application to seamlessly connect to, control, and monitor the e‑bikes.
This will be a dynamic environment, where you have the chance to participate throughout the complete software development lifecycle, including embedded design and architectural decisions within the Zephyr ecosystem. You will focus on software quality and process optimization through peer code reviews, continuous integration toolchains, and hardware‑level automation.
You will be part of our dedicated team and will connect directly with software engineers, hardware experts, and leaders from our client.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant experience in embedded software development and firmware engineering.
- Deep hands‑on experience with Zephyr RTOS (devicetree configuration, Kconfig, kernel services, driver development, and subsystem integration).
- Proficiency in embedded C/C++ and modular firmware design.
- Experience interacting with external hardware (microcontrollers) and communication protocols (BLE, CAN bus, UART, SPI, I2C).
- Solid understanding of software architectures, low‑level memory management, and hardware‑agnostic design principles.
- Experience with CI/CD tools for embedded workflows, specifically GitHub Actions.
- SQL and database knowledge for managing local device data storage, telemetry logs, or configuration profiles.
- Openness to coach, mentor, and grow team members in Zephyr RTOS engineering.
- Excellent command of English with strong communication, assertiveness, and task‑prioritization skills.
Responsibilities
- Firmware architecture and development: analyze system requirements, design software features, and implement robust, modular firmware using Zephyr RTOS for resource‑constrained, connected devices.
- Hardware integration: implement service‑level integration, custom device drivers, and wireless/wired network stacks to link the e‑bike’s internal hardware components with the external ecosystem.
- Process optimization: define and implement processes that streamline embedded development and continuous integration work on the project.
- CI/CD engineering: integrate firmware compilation pipelines and automated binary verification workflows into GitHub Actions.
- Mentorship and leadership: offer coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members; participate in architecture alignment sessions with clients and stakeholders.
- Code quality and review: participate in code reviews, ensure adherence to rigorous embedded standards, and contribute heavily to core framework enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Cross‑functional collaboration: collaborate closely with mobile application developers, hardware engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless end‑to‑end product functionality.
What We Offer
- Project diversity: work on groundbreaking projects across a wide range of industries.
