Job summary

Visa leads software development teams in delivering secure, scalable fintech applications and platforms. The role oversees end-to-end SDLC, ensures alignment with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and data governance, while promoting agile, DevSecOps, and AI-enabled tooling across teams.

Reporting to engineering leadership, you’ll mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and balance hands-on coding with strategic planning to deliver reliable, compliant solutions for customers

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in leading software engineering teams in fintech, payments, or banking technologies/software systems.
• Experience in developing and/or implementing web-based or mobile applications.
• Experience in a leadership role with direct reports.
• Experience in requirements gathering, system design, and architecture for complex software solutions.
• Experience in agile delivery management and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience in code development, review, and debugging for enterprise-scale applications.
• Experience in test planning, execution, and automation.
• Experience in incident response and resolution for software engineering teams.
• Experience in talent management, coaching, and engineering development.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple software engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable fintech applications and platforms.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle from backlog refinement to deployment and monitoring.
• Drive disciplined agile and DevSecOps practices to optimize delivery speed and reliability.
• Ensure outputs adhere to data governance, model explainability, and regulatory standards.
• Coach engineers, remove blockers, and foster an inclusive, high-performance culture.
• Collaborate with product, QA, risk, compliance, and security functions to deliver safe solutions.
• Balance hands-on coding (up to 50-65%) with leadership responsibilities and architectural decisions.
• Guide tool selection, code reviews, and best practices across multiple products and teams.
• Lead incident response, set monitoring standards, and ensure post-incident learnings.
