Job summary

Anshar Studios in Katowice is seeking a DevOps Engineer to architect and improve CI/CD pipelines for Unreal Engine projects. You will administer Perforce, configure automated validations, and scale the build farm with Proxmox and containers. The role rewards mentoring, documentation, and collaboration across teams.

Strong scripting skills (Python, Groovy, Bash, PowerShell) and experience with monitoring tools are essential. English proficiency (B2/C1) is required for cross‑team communication.

Founded in 2012, Anshar Studios focuses on 1st and 3rd party game development for all major gaming platforms.

Currently, we're employing over 200 specialists in our studio in Katowice.

What You will do:

• Architect, implement and continuously improve Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines for Unreal Engine projects, including build-farm provisioning, automated testing & reporting.
• Administer and optimize Perforce: server setup/upgrades, backups, performance tuning, access and stream configuration, etc.
• Configure project build pipelines for automatic validations (e.g., code review validations, code integration checks).
• Scale and manage the build farm: capacity planning, provisioning, lifecycle automation of agents/VMs (Proxmox) and containerized runners.
• Mentor junior and regular DevOps engineers, provide documentation, training sessions and best-practice guidelines.
• Evaluate, test and introduce new tools or plugins that enhance reliability, performance and developer experience.
• Provide first-line support for developers, swiftly diagnosing VCS or build issues and ensuring smooth information flow via Slack, email, etc.

What is needed:

• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Groovy, Bash, PowerShell).
• Proven track record of designing and running highly available CI/CD infrastructures (VMs, containers, on-prem or cloud).
• Solid grasp of server & network fundamentals, performance tuning, monitoring and alerting (Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, etc.).
• Capacity-planning and incident-response experience for build farms or similar critical services.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Mentoring capability and excellent communication skills (English B2/C1 both spoken and written).

Pluses:

• In-depth, hands-on knowledge of Jenkins and Perforce.
• Deep familiarity with Unreal Engine build workflows and Unreal BuildGraph.
• Infrastructure-as-Code know-how (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Hands-on experience with Docker.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Understanding of security best practices: SSO, secrets management, least-privilege policies.
