Job description
Responsibilities
  • Development of structural solutions and selection of deck equipment
  • Creation and supervision of technical documentation in 3D and 2D (classification, production, purchasing) in accordance with Classification Society regulations and contractual requirements
  • Technical support and mentoring of project team members
  • Analysis of production non-conformities and optimization of design processes with regard to productivity, cost efficiency, and compliance with design assumptions
  • Cross-discipline coordination and technical discussions with Classification Society representatives, suppliers, and subcontractors, including participation in project and interdepartmental meetings
  • Review and quality control of technical documentation prepared by internal and external designers
  • Reporting of progress and design errors
  • Experience in designing steel structures and outfitting elements for ships or yachts, including prototype components
  • Knowledge of material strength, kinematic systems design, and metal processing technologies (stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum)
  • Familiarity with 2D documentation for classification requirements for ships or yachts – ability to create, review, and supervise technical and production drawings
  • Knowledge of welding processes, including welding technologies and quality requirements relevant to the design and certification of steel structures
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (or similar software)
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English (minimum B2/C1), enabling daily technical collaboration with clients and external partners
  • Ability to perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) calculations – considered an asset
