We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to take full ownership of a business critical database environment across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, on premises infrastructure, and Azure. This is a hands on role focused on improving reliability, performance, security, disaster recovery, automation, and cloud modernization.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, establishing database standards, solving complex production issues, and leading major upgrades and migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own database performance, availability, capacity, security, and recovery.
- Manage SQL Server and PostgreSQL production environments.
- Establish monitoring, documentation, backup, and disaster recovery standards.
- Lead SQL Server upgrades, infrastructure migrations, and Azure migrations.
- Design and maintain HA and DR solutions, including Always On and replication.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, queries, indexing, blocking, and capacity.
- Automate database administration and operational processes.
- Partner with application, ERP, integration, and BI teams.
- Establish database engineering standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of DBA or database engineering experience.
- Strong production experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Production experience with PostgreSQL.
- Experience with SQL Server upgrades and infrastructure migrations.
- Strong knowledge of backup, restore, HA, DR, performance tuning, and security.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure database services.
- Windows Server and Linux administration experience.
- Strong scripting skills with T SQL plus PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

- Databricks and lakehouse experience.
- Infrastructure as code and database CI and CD.
- Experience with ERP, distribution, manufacturing, retail, or warehouse environments.
- Experience building a database function or establishing DBA standards.
- Azure or relevant database certifications.
- Data warehouse and BI experience.
- MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB experience.
- VMware, SAN and NAS, and storage performance knowledge.
