Job summary

Sphise is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own a critical database environment across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, on premises, and Azure. This hands-on role focuses on reliability, performance, security, disaster recovery, automation, and cloud modernization.

The ideal candidate will work independently, establish database standards, resolve complex production issues, and drive major upgrades and migrations with stakeholders across IT and business.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of DBA or database engineering experience.
• Strong production experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Production experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with SQL Server upgrades and infrastructure migrations.
• Knowledge of backup, restore, HA, DR, performance tuning, and security.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure database services.
• Windows Server and Linux administration experience.
• Strong scripting skills with T SQL plus PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Responsibilities

This is a hands on role focused on improving reliability, performance, security, disaster recovery, automation, and cloud modernization.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, establishing database standards, solving complex production issues, and leading major upgrades and migrations.

Key Responsibilities
