Job summary

GFT Poland is seeking an experienced Data/Software Engineer to join a strategic data transformation initiative in Kraków. You will design and build scalable data pipelines, modernize enterprise-grade platforms, and collaborate with stakeholders in a highly regulated financial services environment.

The role requires 7+ years of hands-on experience with Spark, PySpark, Python, Java, and cloud technologies, plus DevOps and Agile experience. Hybrid work with three days on-site in Kraków is possible.

Qualifications

7+ years of software or data engineering experience.
Strong Spark & Databricks experience.
Hands-on PySpark experience.
Strong Python programming skills.
Good Java development experience.
Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
Experience with Kubernetes and Kafka-based streaming solutions.
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows.
Experience building distributed, high-throughput and low-latency systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in Agile teams.
Openness to work hybrid from Kraków 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable data processing solutions using Spark and Databricks.
Build data pipelines using PySpark, Python and Java.
Develop high-availability distributed systems.
Implement and maintain streaming solutions based on Kafka architectures.
Design and optimize cloud-native solutions in Microsoft Azure.
Support CI/CD processes and DevOps practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver business requirements.
Analyze complex technical flows and propose suitable technical solutions.
Participate in system modernization and application transformation initiatives.
Ensure reliability, scalability and performance of data platforms.
