Job summary

Volkswagen Financial Services (Poland) is seeking a data science/ML engineer to design and deploy advanced models, build Python-based analytics solutions, and scale AI capabilities across business units.

You will lead end-to-end ML projects, perform feature engineering, manage data pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile, hybrid environment based in Warsaw.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in Data Science.
• Strong independent problem solving and mentorship abilities.
• Advanced Python and libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn).
• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, MLflow).
• Solid SQL/NoSQL knowledge, data modeling, and software design.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Git, CI/CD.
• Understanding GDPR, IT security, and ethical AI.
• Strong communication, proactive mindset, and teamwork.
• Fluent English and very good Polish.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver advanced models (regression, classification, clustering).
• Lead end-to-end solutions, including deep learning and reinforcement learning.
• Drive feature engineering and model optimization.
• Ensure high-quality data processing and apply advanced techniques (Monte Carlo, SHAP).
• Lead complex, statistics-driven projects.
• Build and scale Python-based solutions (notebook environments).
• Automate workflows in Linux (shell scripting, Git).
• Design robust software architectures (functional & object-oriented).
• Work with SQL/NoSQL databases and optimize performance.
• Fine-tune and deploy LLMs for business use cases.
• Develop LLM-based applications (copilots, chatbots, summarization tools).
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems and APIs.
• Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques.
• Evaluate and optimize model outputs (human-in-the-loop & automated methods).

Our requirements:

• Advanced Python skills and experience with key libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn)
• Experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, MLflow)
• Solid knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and software design principles
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Git, CI/CD
• Understanding of GDPR, IT security, and ethical AI
• Strong communication skills, proactive mindset, and team orientation
• Fluent English, very good Polish language skills
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments
