Qualifications

  • Very good knowledge of data pipeline orchestration for data transformation and aggregation.
  • Very good knowledge of GCP and creating cloud-based architecture.
  • Very good knowledge of Python and SQL; experience with procedural SQL ideal.
  • Very good knowledge of API and full-stack environment interactions.
  • Good knowledge of Bitbucket and CI/CD solutions.
  • Good knowledge of IaC (Terraform).
  • Familiarity with AI tools for code migration and optimization.

About the project

Are you experienced in data engineering and cloud-based solutions? Join our dynamic and forward-thinking team as a Senior Data Engineer. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the transformation of our data platform, leading the migration of our ETL workflows from a SAS platform to the Google Cloud (GCP). In addition to ensuring a smooth migration process, you will take on software architecture responsibilities, driving product development, future enhancements, and optimization across both the backend and frontend.

Your responsibilities

  • Cloud Migration: Lead and execute the migration of ETL processes and workflows from the SAS platform to Google Cloud Platform, ensuring high performance and minimal disruption.
  • Code Optimization: Collaborate with AI tools to translate SAS code into efficient cloud-native code, optimizing it for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Architectural Leadership: Design and implement a modern, robust, and scalable data platform, serving as a technical architect for key projects and long-term initiatives.
  • Product Enhancement: Contribute to the wider lifecycle of product development, identifying opportunities for functional improvements, enhancements, and innovations on both back-end and front-end systems.
  • API Development: Design and build interfaces between data storage and the data transformation engine in the form of scalable and secure APIs that enable seamless data flow and integration.
  • Technology Trends: Stay updated with the latest developments in data engineering, cloud computing, and frontend technologies, driving adoption of best practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and software developers, to deliver high-quality solutions that support our business goals.
Our requirements
  • Very good knowledge of data pipeline orchestration (design and architecting scalable, cloud-native data pipelines for data transformation and aggregation based on business use cases).
  • Very good knowledge of GCP (or other Cloud) and creating Cloud based architecture (BigQuery, Dataproc, Composer)
  • Very good knowledge of Python and SQL. Ideally also with experience in the usage of Procedural SQL.
  • Very good knowledge of API (understanding of how frontend apps interact with backend APIs in a full-stack environment)
  • Good knowledge of Bitbucket and CI/CD solutions
  • Good knowledge of IaC (Terraform)
  • Familiarity with AI tools for code migration and optimization (e.g., AI-driven transformation tools or IDE plugins leveraging machine learning).
  • English level B2
