We’re now looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a high-energy team focused on building and evolving modern data platforms and data-driven solutions. In this role, you will combine strong software engineering skills with expertise in large-scale data processing, cloud technologies, and data platform development. You will work closely with product, technical, and analytical teams to deliver reliable solutions, automate data processes, and solve complex technical challenges.
Position is remote with occasional visits in office in Poznań, Poland (few times in a year). B2B contract.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and automate tools and services supporting modern data platforms
- Build scalable data processing solutions using Python, JVM technologies, SQL, and PySpark
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and processing workflows
- Support product, technical, and analytical teams in building data-driven products and services
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across data platform environments
- Develop reliable and maintainable software following modern engineering practices
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous improvement of development processes
- Work with cloud-based data infrastructure and optimize solutions for reliability and performance
- Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to design and evolve current data solutions
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential applications within data engineering
Requirements:
- Strong professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar software/data engineering role
- Advanced Python skills and willingness to work with JVM languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Scala
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PySpark
- Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform or another major public cloud provider
- Familiarity with GCP services such as BigQuery, Composer, Dataproc, and Cloud Run
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including TDD, Clean Code, and CI/CD
- Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments
- Hands-on experience with Docker
- Experience with Git or another version control system
- Interest in Generative AI and its applications in data and software engineering
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Proactive approach to learning and keeping technical knowledge up to date
- Good command of English (B2+ level or higher)
Nice to have:
- Experience with Apache Beam and Google Dataflow
- Knowledge of Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
- Practical experience with Apache Spark or PySpark
- Experience working with Big Data environments
- Basic knowledge of neural networks Interest in applying Generative AI to data engineering workflows
