Job summary

SIX is seeking a Senior Security Platforms Engineer to strengthen its Cyber Security Engineering team. You will own security-critical platforms, automate pipelines, and apply SRE practices to scale data platforms across regions.

You will work with Elastic, Kafka, log pipelines, and OpenShift, building IaC with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD, and writing Python tooling. Senior but open to strong mid-level candidates.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in platform engineering, SRE, and end-to-end ownership of production systems.
• Proven ability to design and implement automation in production environments.
• Experience with Terraform, Git-based CI/CD, and Python.
• Hands-on use of Kubernetes platforms as a user, deploying workloads at scale.
• Background with data-intensive or security-relevant platforms (Elastic/Kafka/log pipelines).
• Production mindset with on-call, incident response, and proactive ownership.

Do you enjoy building and operating resilient, automated platforms that sit at the heart of security operations? Are you comfortable owning production systems, improving them through code, and thinking in terms of reliability, failure modes, and scale?

We are looking for a Senior Security Platforms Engineer to strengthen our Cyber Security Engineering team. The role focuses on engineering, automation, and reliability of critical security data platforms, while supporting a broad set of domains such as security logging, detection pipelines, and platform integrations. The role focuses on engineering and automation over manual operations.

Our platforms process and transport security and operational relevant data at scale across multiple regions. This role combines hands-on platform ownership with SRE principles, strong automation, and close collaboration with security engineering and operations teams.

The role is intended as senior, but we are open to strong mid-level candidates who demonstrate the right mindset, technical depth, and growth potential.

What You Will Do

• Own and improve security-critical platforms that ingest, process, and store large-scale data (e.g. Elastic-based platforms, messaging pipelines), ensuring reliability, scalability, and integrity of security-relevant data.
• Drive reliability improvements using SRE principles, reducing operational toil and systematically addressing failure modes, data loss scenarios, and resilience under stress.
• Design and implement automation and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD, enabling reproducible, auditable, and scalable environments.
• Develop and maintainPython-based tooling to automate workflows, integrate systems, and eliminate manual operational effort.
• Design, deploy, and operate workloads on container-based platforms (Kubernetes / OpenShift) as a platform user, while supporting data pipelines (Elastic, logstash, Kafka) and collaborating with platform and security teams globally.

What You Bring

• Core expectations (senior level):
• Strong experience inplatform engineering / SRE / infrastructure roles, with end-to-end ownership of production systems.
• Proven expertise inTerraform, Git-based CI/CD, and Python, designing and implementing automation in production environments.
• Practical experience working withKubernetes platforms as a user, deploying and operating workloads reliably at scale.
• Experience withdata-intensive or security-relevant platforms (Elastic Stack, Kafka, log pipelines, Splunk, Opensearch), including performance, scaling, and operational trade-offs.
• Strong production mindset: experience withon-call, incident response, and understanding of system failure modes, combined with a proactive, ownership-driven approach.
