Job summary

Pivotal Solutions is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to assess and evolve AWS/Azure environments, focusing on security, networking, storage, uptime, and cost efficiency. The role works closely with development teams on configuration and knowledge transfer, while providing level 2+ incident support and SOP development for junior staff.

Candidates should have 5+ years in Windows/Linux administration, proficiency with serverless and scripting (Node.js, Python, Ruby), and strong DevOps/CI-CD

Qualifications

• Experience engineering and deploying AWS and Azure environments.
• Designing cloud infrastructure with cost and security in mind.
• 5+ years of Windows and Linux server administration, on-prem or cloud.
• Knowledge of Node.js, Python, Ruby for serverless and scripting.
• Familiarity with security controls and documentation (SOX/PII/PCI).
• Experience with CI/CD/DevOps and working with development teams.
• Strong communication, project management and customer-service skills.
• Ability to design and implement large-scale cloud projects.
• Document cloud architecture using Visio or similar tool.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in IT governance and change management.

Responsibilities

• Assess current AWS environment and recommend growth strategies across security, networking, storage, uptime, serverless, and containers.
• Collaborate closely with development teams on configuration changes and knowledge expansion.
• Provide level 2+ incident support and create SOPs for level 1 teams.
• Support Linux/Windows OS, architecture, services, patching, capacity planning, backups, and integration planning.
• Maintain, enhance, upgrade and tune infrastructure across multiple environments.
