Job summary

Samba in Warszawa is seeking a senior cloud engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud platforms, aligning initiatives with business goals. You will lead Kubernetes clusters, IaC with Terraform, and collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Security to deliver reliable, secure services.

You will drive cloud standards, security practices, and cost governance while mentoring teammates and advancing automation across teams.

About the Role

You design, implement, and maintain Samba's cloud infrastructure, systems, and services. It's a role for an experienced cloud professional who can collaborate independently across departments and make sure cloud technology initiatives align with business objectives and best practices.

What You'll Do

• Lead Cloud Architecture: Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Run Kubernetes: Architect, deploy, and manage production-grade Kubernetes clusters supporting mission-critical containerized applications, with Docker and orchestration platforms.
• Set Cloud Standards: Define and enforce cloud standards, patterns, and best practices across the organization, and champion DevOps and GitOps practices to improve deployment velocity and reliability.
• Operate and Optimize: Maintain, monitor, and optimize cloud environments across compute, storage, networking, and security, troubleshooting complex issues to ensure high availability, and lead monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Automate Everything: Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks such as Terraform, establish continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and drive automation-first provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows.
• Secure and Govern: Design and enforce cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), network segmentation, encryption, and compliance controls, and own cost management and resource governance.
• Guide Across Teams: Serve as the cloud subject matter expert across Engineering, Product, Operations, and Security, translate business requirements into resilient cloud solutions, and lead documentation of architectures and runbooks.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, and 6+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles with demonstrated senior-level responsibility.
• Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS or GCP), including production-scale environments.
• Expert-level experience with Infrastructure as Code (such as Terraform) and infrastructure automation.
• Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes ecosystems, including designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting clusters at scale.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (such as Python or Bash), and a strong understanding of cloud security principles, including IAM, network security, encryption, and compliance.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
