Job summary

Google Warsaw, Poland is seeking a Mid-level Software Engineer to drive progress and mentor junior teammates. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and APIs at scale, with in-person interviews typical for the process.

Responsibilities include improving platform stability, collaborating across teams, and delivering robust data infrastructure within Google Cloud. English proficiency is required for most roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling backend services, APIs, and data infrastructure.
• Experience with Kotlin, Java, Scala or Go.
• Experience in Data Analytics and ETL tools.
• Experience debugging complex issues, improving platform stability and security, and writing testable, maintainable code.
• Understanding of back-end architecture, distributed systems concepts, database/storage solutions, and system performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend APIs, services, and core capabilities for Dataform to deliver new features and enhance platform functionality.
• Scope, design, and drive technical solutions to address infrastructure bottlenecks and continuously enhance the security and stability of the platform.
• Partner with front-end teams and other Google Cloud service owners on Application Programming Interface (API) and system designs.
• Build scalable code management and pipeline orchestration solutions that power both the customer-facing Dataform product and broader Google Cloud platform capabilities.
• Participate in monitoring, debugging, and production support (including on-call rotations) to maintain system health and enable frequent, reliable releases.
