Job summary

Google is seeking software engineers to contribute to Dataform backend features at scale in Poland. The role involves designing and building APIs, improving infrastructure, and partnering with Google Cloud teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that power enterprise customers globally.

The position emphasizes handling large-scale data processing, distributed systems, and robust software engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling backend services, APIs, and data infrastructure.
• Experience with Kotlin, Java, Scala or Go.
• Experience in Data Analytics and ETL tools.
• Experience debugging complex issues, improving platform stability and security, and writing testable, maintainable code.
• Understanding of back-end architecture, distributed systems concepts, database/storage solutions, and system performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend APIs, services, and core capabilities for Dataform to deliver new features and enhance platform functionality.
• Scope, design, and drive technical solutions to address infrastructure bottlenecks and continuously enhance the security and stability of the platform.
• Partner with front-end teams and other Google Cloud service owners on Application Programming Interface (API) and system designs.
• Build scalable code management and pipeline orchestration solutions that power both the customer-facing Dataform product and broader Google Cloud platform capabilities.
• Participate in monitoring, debugging, and production support (including on-call rotations) to maintain system health and enable frequent, reliable releases.
