Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Infrastructure Team. You will rebasing our custom Linux kernel patches for ARM, build pipelines, ensure system stability and reproducible builds, and integrate monitoring tools before machines enter production.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Computer Science or Engineering, deep kernel development experience, proficiency in C, and familiarity with Debian-family internals and KVM/QEMU on ARM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; heavy kernel development experience.
• Deep Linux kernel knowledge and ARM architecture experience.
• Proficiency in C and OS-level integrations; understanding Debian-family internals and package management.
• KVM/QEMU virtualization experience, preferably on ARM.

Responsibilities

• Own kernel configuration and performance tuning for ARM hardware.
• Provide code reviews and cross-coverage for kernel patches.
• Migrate existing custom x86 kernel patches to ARM for Debian.
• Investigate architecture-specific integration issues, especially in networking stacks.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Infrastructure Team. The team is responsible for the low-level operating systems and custom Linux kernel builds powering our global fleet. To support the introduction of ARM servers, you will be tasked with rebasing our custom kernel patches for ARM, pipeline creation. Your work will be to ensure system stability, reproducible builds, and seamless integration of monitoring tools before these machines enter production.

Requirements

Preferred qualifications & skills:

• Education & experience: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus heavy experience in kernel development.
• Kernel Expertise: Deep engineering background working with the Linux kernel and ARM architecture.
• System Programming: Proficiency in C and deep understanding of OS-level integrations.
• OS Knowledge: Experience with Debian-family Linux internals and package management.
• Virtualization: Experience with KVM.QEMU, preferably on ARM.

Nice to have skills:

• Experienced in Free Range Routing (FRR).
