Job summary

Jit Team is seeking a Senior Backend Java Developer to join a Nordic-client backed initiative focused on pension and investment platforms. You will modernize existing systems, deliver scalable Java-based services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an international, English-speaking environment.

The role emphasizes Java 21, Spring Boot 3.3.x, PostgreSQL, and modern CI/CD workflows. Hybrid work from Gdynia/Gdańsk/Warszawa with office presence three days a week is expected.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience as a Senior Java Developer.
• Excellent knowledge of Java development and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with modernization and migration projects.
• Practical experience with Java 21 and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with messaging (JMS, MQ) and API specs (OpenAPI/AsyncAPI).
• Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Strong OO design and architectural skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead application modernization efforts, updating to Java 17+/Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.3.x.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications for savings and investment products.
• Build and enhance calculation engines ensuring tax compliance across multiple countries.
• Implement solutions for complex business processes, tax authorities integrations, and reporting.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to system architecture discussions and continuous improvements.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Java Developer to join a team responsible for developing and maintaining applications that support tax processing, account management, and investment operations for pension and savings products. The role focuses on modernizing existing platforms and delivering scalable backend solutions using the latest Java ecosystem technologies.

Responsibilities You'll Have

• Lead application modernization activities, including upgrades to Java 17+/Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.3.x
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications supporting savings and investment products
• Build and enhance calculation engines that ensure compliance with tax regulations across multiple countries
• Implement solutions supporting complex business processes, integrations with tax authorities, and customer reporting
• Participate throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to development, testing, and deployment
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and financial analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to system architecture discussions and technical improvements

• Several years of experience as a Senior Java Developer
• Strong expertise in Java development
