Job summary

LeoVegas Group is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer in Warsaw to develop scalable backend services in a fast-moving Retention domain. You will contribute to platforms that engage players and drive value across our products, working in a hybrid setup.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, collaboration across teams, and a strong focus on scalable IT architecture and innovative features. English is the working language.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience as a back-end developer with Java and/or Kotlin.
• Experience with messaging tools such as Kafka.
• Experience with microservice architecture.
• Proficiency with Spring and JPA.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL relational databases.
• Experience with AI tools like Claude.

As part of our Retention domain, you'll play a key role in developing the platforms and features that keep players engaged and coming back for more.

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-moving, flat-structured team as a Senior Backend Engineer, where your work will directly shape value-generating features across our products.

The Retention team powers the organisation with communication capabilities, ranging from indirect and direct communication with the players to a custom-built toolbox that enriches the player journey with bonuses, loyalty programs, and seamless cross-channel experiences. As one of the most crucial parts of the player lifecycle, the Retention domain ensures our players return for new, exciting, and rewarding experiences.

You Will Be Responsible For

• Building scalable, robust and efficient solutions in our full-stack team and ensure the continuous delivery in our microservice architecture.
• Being involved in technical discussions to challenge, propose, evaluate, and take a guiding and supportive approach to business needs.
• Working closely with our operational units and stakeholders.
• Driving your own initiatives with a high-quality mindset.
• Working within the full chain of development, having end-to-end responsibilities.
• Collaborative work across the organisation with other domains.
• Making sure our IT ecology is scalable and ready for upcoming expansions.

Essential Skills

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience working as a back-end developer with Java and/or Kotlin
• Experience with messaging tools (i.e. Kafka)
• Experience with microservice architecture
• You have experience with common Java frameworks such as Spring and JPA
• MySQL relational databases are not something new for you
• Experience with AI tools like Claude

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with OpenAPI
• Experience with BigQuery
• Experience with Kubernetes
