Job summary

LeoVegas Group in Warsaw is seeking a Backend Engineer to strengthen our Sportsbook backend. You will design and implement from idea to production, ensuring scalability, availability, and security while collaborating with product managers, architects, and QA.

The role focuses on building highly scalable RESTful microservices, integrating new products, and mentoring teammates in a fast-paced agile environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot and Event-Driven Architectures.
• Experience designing Microservices, K8s and Containerization (Docker) and Kafka messaging systems.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and caching.
• Implementing resilience patterns (e.g., retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation).
• Designing and maintaining monitoring dashboards (e.g., metrics, logs, traces) and alerts to proactively detect issues.
• Hands-on experience developing highly scalable RESTful end-to-end Microservices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our dynamic team in Warsaw as a Backend Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our Sportsbook domain, by working on the most impactful problems and being able to bring about change with effective momentum. You'll collaborate closely with our Senior Engineers, participating in tech meetings, validating architectural decisions, and ensuring seamless communication flow. Additionally, you'll work collaboratively with various teams, contributing to planning, tech solutions discussions, and feature development. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive solutions and actively shape our backend architecture.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• 4+ Years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot and Event-Driven Architectures.
• Experience designing Microservices, K8s and Containerization (Docker) and Kafka messaging systems.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and caching.
• Implementing resilience patterns (e.g., retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation).
• Designing and maintaining monitoring dashboards (e.g., metrics, logs, traces) and alerts to proactively detect issues.
• Hands-on experience developing highly scalable RESTful end-to-end Microservices.

NICE TO HAVES:

• Familiarity with Reactive Programming (e.g. RxJava) and Vert.x would be a big plus.
• Experience in platforms like AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
• Online gaming and gambling experience
