Bratte is building Animates, an AI companion app that remembers you and reacts in real time using local animation tech. Our 27-person team has a dedicated backend focus, serving real traffic today and shaping the next version with founders.

You’ll own production backend, scale real-time systems, and help design APIs and memory data layers. You will work with Cloudflare Workers and a TS/Node stack, contributing to observability, incident response, and end-to-end feature delivery in a fully

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend development.
• Product-minded; you write the task and own outcomes.
• Experience running systems in production under load.
• Strong JavaScript/Node.js or Python/Go; comfortable with TS/Node.
• Solid database experience (SQL/NoSQL/KV).
• Real-time data processing: WebSockets.
• Comfortable making decisions with partial information.
• Fluent in Russian, Ukrainian, or Belarusian; English B1+.

Responsibilities

• Share ownership of the production backend; design, deploy, monitor, and respond when it breaks.
• Scale real-time systems as traffic grows (latency, throughput, costs).
• Build and evolve APIs, WebSockets, and the real-time layer between the app, animation models, and LLM providers.
• Work with Cloudflare Workers to keep performance predictable under load.
• Design data storage for memory and conversation state.
• Strengthen observability, alerting, incident response, and documentation.
• Ship features end to end with the team.
