Webshare is a fast, self-serve proxy platform used by prosumers and growing businesses worldwide. We’re hiring a backend engineer to design and build high-performance APIs that power our proxy infrastructure.

You’ll join a lean, autonomous, async-first team with a global footprint, tackle production issues, optimize performance, and push cost-efficiency while expanding your backend skills, including Python.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in at least one OOP language.
• Ability to work with industry standard AI tools (LLMs).
• Programming-language-agnostic mindset; eager to grow backend skills including Python.
• Comfortable in infrastructure-heavy environments.
• Proven API design and scalability experience.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and async architectures.
• Willingness to understand deep networking concepts (BGP, CIDR, ASNs).
• Fluent English (international team).
• Can work with a remote team worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-performance backend APIs that power Webshare’s proxy infrastructure.
• Own the design and delivery of services that handle billions of requests daily.
• Collaborate in a highly autonomous team to scope, plan, and execute work with minimal meetings.
• Investigate and resolve production issues across distributed systems.
• Balance speed and quality, by identifying which trade-off is better for a given situation.
• Operate and improve containerized infrastructure.
• Continuously improve system performance, observability, and cost-efficiency.

In this role, you’ll:

• Build and maintain high-performance backend APIs that power Webshare’s proxy infrastructure
• Own the design and delivery of services that handle billions of requests daily
• Collaborate in a highly autonomous team to scope, plan, and execute work with minimal meetings
• Investigate and resolve production issues across distributed systems
• Balance speed and quality, by identifying which trade-off is better for a particular situation
• Operate and improve our containerized infrastructure
• Continuously improve system performance, observability, and cost-efficiency

Your skills & experience:

• Strong experience in at least one OOP language
• Ability to work with industry standard AI tools (LLMs), while balancing code quality and speed, but never compromising on reliability and architecture
• Ability to work in a programming language agnostic environment, you're eager to learn and excited to grow your backend engineering skills, including working with Python
• Comfortable working in an infrastructure heavy environment
• Proven experience designing and scaling APIs
• Familiarity with distributed systems and async architectures
• Willingness to understand deep networking concepts (BGP, CIDR, ASNs)
• Fluent English (international team)
• Can handle working with a remote team (we’re worldwide)

Nice to have:

• Experience with Python
• Experience with very large datasets
• Experience with proxies or other networking-related technologies
• Experience with golang

Salary & Benefits:

• Gross salary: 24 000 - 33 400 PLN/month gross + quarterly KPI-based performance bonus. Keep in mind that we are open to discussing a different salary based on your skills and experience
