About the Project

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will be a critical part of our growing company, working on a cross-functional team to implement best practices in technology, architecture, and process. Your Responsibilities

1. Design and implement highly scalable backend endpoints.
2. Gather product requirements and write design docs to satisfy product needs.
3. Drive/Lead full lifecycle of software development: product requirements, architecture, solution design, development, quality assurance, and maintenance.
4. Mentor others on best practices and effectively share knowledge.
5. Communicate development progress to the product lead, engineering manager, and other stakeholders.
6. Introduce new technologies and ideas as required.
7. Work effectively as part of a large global team.
8. Attend and engage in scrum ceremony meetings, team parties, and manager 1:1s.
9. Provide feedback to co-workers in written and verbal form and respond to technical and behavioral feedback from managers and peers.
10. Proactively act without being told what to do. Identify areas of improvement and drive best practices to deliver high quality, performant, and scalable solutions.
11. Develop services that are highly available and scalable with proper monitoring and alerting in place.
12. Share knowledge and best practices with the engineering team.
13. Deal with ambiguity and own projects from start to finish.
14. Organize and effectively plan and breakdown large projects into smaller tasks.
15. Listen to others and seek to understand their viewpoints.
16. Be a creative and innovative problem solver.

Minimum Requirements

1. Minimum 5 years of industry experience in backend development, at least 1-2 years in senior positions, developing large-scale applications.
2. Experience developing distributed web applications.
3. Proven experience leveraging AI tools to enhance software development processes.
4. Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
5. Experience with database modeling (SQL or NoSQL).
6. Experience with using and designing RESTful services.
7. Communication Skills, Problem Solving, Proactivity, Team Player, Listening Skills, Creativity and Innovation, Organization and Planning, Dealing with Ambiguity.

Optional

1. BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar.
2. Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Mongo, Redis, Ruby on Rails, Microservices, Machine Learning.
