Job summary

SpotOn is hiring a senior backend engineer in Kraków/Gdańsk to own and advance scalable systems. You will tackle high-traffic production challenges, apply Golang and PHP expertise, and integrate AI to enhance code quality. You’ll collaborate in a fast-paced environment with a focus on tech debt reduction and architectural integrity.

You will work from our Kraków or Gdańsk offices 2–3 times per week, enjoy a competitive B2B package, and access extensive training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Real-world backend experience: 5–7 years building software for high-traffic production
• Golang expert with PHP knowledge ideal
• Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve code quality
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns for scalable systems
• English communication at least B2; able to collaborate in Kraków/Gdańsk offices 2–3x weekly

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of outcomes and ensure fixes are delivered across the stack
• Navigate complex, large-scale systems and solve high-stakes problems
• Be flexible to jump in when colleagues are unavailable or blockers arise
• Leverage AI tools daily to write better code and debug systems
• Provide technical leadership and address tech debt before it becomes blocking
