Job summary

apoQlar is seeking a backend engineer to design, build and operate backend services in C#/.NET and Python, powering our HoloMedicine XR platform. You will develop APIs, data pipelines and integration services critical to real-time clinical workflows.

You will work with medical imaging formats (DICOM/DICOMweb/NIFTI), containerize with Docker/Kubernetes, and use CI/CD and Argo Workflows. Collaboration with XR engineering, clinical stakeholders and Quality/Regulatory is essential to maintain EU MDR

Qualifications

• Backend development experience in C#/.NET and Python.
• Experience with API design, distributed systems and data modeling.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes; cloud experience a plus.
• Knowledge of medical imaging: DICOM, DICOMweb, FHIR, NIFTI.
• Fluent in English; German a plus.
• Experience with regulated medical software (EU MDR, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).
• CI/CD, testing and code quality practices.
• Familiar with real-time data streams (WebRTC).
• Observability tools: Grafana/Prometheus/Loki.
• XR/AR/VR familiarity or clinical environment exposure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate backend services in C#/.NET and Python.
• Develop APIs, data pipelines and integration services for medical imaging workloads.
• Support real-time data flows to XR clients with reliability and low latency.
• Containerize and ship services via Docker/Kubernetes; leverage Argo Workflows and CI/CD.
• Build observability and security through logging, metrics and SBOM hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with EU MDR, IEC 62304 and ISO 13485.
• Code review, mentoring and shaping backend architecture.
• Collaborate with XR engineering, clinical stakeholders and Quality/Regulatory.
• Support the software powering apoQlar’s HoloMedicine platform.
