Job summary

Sage AI Labs in Warsaw is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own and operate the systems that power live shopping agents. You will architect, deploy, monitor, and support 24/7 checkout infrastructure, collaborating with the CTO to keep systems running under load.

You will work on ingestion at scale, search and ranking, and robust failure recovery. The role requires strong Python expertise and a passion for correctness and reliability in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend and infrastructure systems.
• Strong Python experience and production readiness.
• Owned production systems end to end (deploys, monitoring, Pager).
• Ability to work without a fully defined spec in a fast-moving startup.
• Focus on correctness and preventing silent failures.

Responsibilities

• Own the checkout agents architecture, deployment, and monitoring.
• Scale ingestion from hundreds to thousands of sources with resilient infrastructure.
• Develop and optimize search and ranking using embeddings, retrieval, and caching.
