Job summary

Sigma Software is seeking a Senior Back-end Engineer to contribute to a high-scale SaaS platform focused on accessibility automation and compliance. You will work remotely with distributed teams in Ukraine, Poland, Romania, and Albania, shaping architecture, cloud infrastructure, and data-intensive systems.

You will design scalable backend services, lead microservices efforts, and help optimize delivery pipelines while leveraging AI tools and modern back-end technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer including AI SDLC exposure.
• Proficient in backend development with Golang, Kotlin, or other JVM languages.
• Experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, distributed backend solutions for a SaaS platform.
• Architect and deliver complex systems for accessibility compliance and scalability.
• Develop and maintain microservices and cloud-native apps.
• Plan, execute, and support large-scale software delivery pipelines.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize performance.
• Research and integrate modern backend technologies into the stack.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture evolution and strategy.
• Improve reliability, observability, and maintainability of distributed systems.
• Engage in AI-assisted software development practices and code reviews.
