Job summary

Piano is seeking a senior individual contributor for its Customer Data Platform team in Warsaw. You will work on a high-throughput event pipeline, Elasticsearch-backed search, and sandboxed execution of customer logic with Claude Code.

This AI-first environment emphasizes ownership, CI/CD with Helm and FluxCD, and cross-team collaboration with product and business partners. We value strong technical English and pragmatic problem solving.

Qualifications

• Daily, fluent Claude Code practice on production code.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript skills with ESM and Jest/Mocha.
• Deep Elasticsearch knowledge including mappings and deep pagination.
• Kafka expertise at scale with partitioning and dead-letter handling.
• Production ownership mindset: on-call, instrumentation, and rollouts.
• PostgreSQL with ORM experience; migrations and indexing.
• Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps, and GitLab CI ownership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver through Claude Code and raise the team’s bar on it.
• Own event-pipeline services under load spikes and pathological traffic.
• Own the Elasticsearch query and search layer.
• Own sandboxed execution of customer logic and integrations.
• Drive integration work across team boundaries and coordinate rollouts.
• Scope epics with technical, product and business stakeholders.
• Review teammates’ work with risk-aware depth and test determinism.
• Run production changes end to end through Helm and FluxCD GitOps.
• Take a recurring on-duty rotation: alerts, triage, hotfixes.
