Job summary

LeoVegas Group is building a world-class Sportsbook platform. We operate in a high-volume, real-time environment where speed, correctness, and reliability are critical.

You will lead architecture discussions and mentor engineers to deliver scalable services that transform data into customer experiences. The role emphasizes system design, JVM expertise, reactive programming, and strong collaboration with product teams to shape technical initiatives and reduce production risk.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, building and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Strong backend expertise in Java with understanding of JVM internals, concurrency and multithreading.
• Hands-on experience with Reactive Programming and non-blocking systems using Spring Boot and/or Vert.x.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures; familiarity with Redis, NATS, and data stores.
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms; debugging complex production incidents.
• Ability to influence technical decisions and communicate with engineers, product managers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design discussions for scalable, resilient distributed systems.
• Drive simplification while maintaining performance, reliability and code quality.
• Identify risks and lead root cause analysis when incidents occur.
• Improve observability, monitoring and operational readiness; reduce technical debt.
• Promote best practices for event-driven architectures, performance and CI/CD.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and guidance.
• Collaborate with product and architects to translate problems into solutions.
• Foster ownership, collaboration and engineering excellence.
