Job summary

SoftServe is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable automation across web, API, backend, and performance testing for large-scale European public-sector systems. You will integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, support shift-left testing, and collaborate with developers and testers to maximize coverage.

The role requires hands-on Java expertise with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and RestAssured, alongside SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and tools

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional IT experience
• Strong hands-on experience in test automation and building automation frameworks
• Strong programming skills in Java, including OpenJDK 11/17/21, Streams, Collections, and Lambda expressions
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools, including: Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, JUnit and TestNG
• Strong experience with performance and load testing using Apache JMeter
• Experience with API and service testing, including SoapUI, LoadUI, and Swagger
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Experience with Maven and Gradle
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins and GitLab CI
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with SauceLabs for cross-browser testing
• Knowledge of Angular and CSS for frontend object identification
• Experience with Protocol Buffers, Jackson, and Gson
• Experience with test management, defect tracking, and test data management
• Experience working with development environments such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, VS Code
• Knowledge of Generative AI applied to automated test generation
• Strong reporting, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively within international and multicultural teams
• English or French at B2 level or higher

About The Role

In this role, you will work as a Senior Test Automation Engineer, supporting large-scale grant and expert management systems within a European public-sector environment. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation solutions covering web, API, backend, regression, and performance testing. A key part of the role will be integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and supporting the transition from manual to automated testing. The project operates in a modern DevSecOps environment, combining test automation with manual, API, backend, and performance testing for enterprise-scale systems.
