Job description

Senior Associate, Legal – Privacy (Marketing & E-Commerce)

In this role, you will join a dynamic Legal and Privacy team focused on shaping how customer data is used responsibly across digital marketing and e-commerce channels. You will play a key part in ensuring that innovative marketing and advertising activities are built on strong, compliant, and privacy-conscious foundations.

This is a highly impactful position where legal expertise meets digital innovation. You will work closely with marketing, e-commerce, and technical teams to enable data-driven growth while ensuring compliance with global privacy regulations. Your work will directly influence how customer trust, transparency, and privacy are maintained across online experiences.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of law, technology, and digital business—someone who can translate complex privacy requirements into practical, business-friendly solutions.

What You'll Do
  • Advise marketing and e-commerce teams on privacy matters related to digital advertising, customer data usage, cross-device tracking, retargeting, email marketing, and social media campaigns.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate privacy and data protection agreements with ad tech partners, analytics providers, marketing platforms, and data collaboration/cleanroom vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with global privacy frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, ePrivacy Directive, and emerging digital regulation.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) and user preference management tools across digital properties.
  • Partner with regional legal teams, data governance, and engineering stakeholders to embed privacy-by-design principles into marketing and e-commerce initiatives.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, enforcement trends, and industry standards impacting digital marketing and advertising technologies.
  • Deliver privacy training and create clear, practical guidance and best practices for marketing, product, and digital teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping teams balance innovation, customer experience, and privacy compliance.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified lawyer (JD or equivalent) with active licence to practise law in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Minimum 5 years of legal experience with a strong focus on privacy and data protection.
  • Proven experience working with digital marketing, ad tech, e-commerce, or technology-driven businesses (in-house or law firm experience welcome).
  • Strong understanding of global privacy laws and how they apply to online behavioural advertising and customer data ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with privacy technologies such as Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) and user preference management tools.
  • Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across technical and business teams.
  • Privacy certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM (or equivalent) are a strong advantage.
What We Offer You
  • Life Insurance
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Pension Plan
  • Multisport Card
  • Employee Assistance Program (health, legal & financial consultancy support)
  • Access to Internal E-Learning Development Platform
