Job summary

Fortrea Poland is seeking a Senior Architect to design, implement, and maintain the IT architecture across infrastructure, applications, data and security, ensuring alignment with business goals.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior architects, and drive adoption of cloud and IaC practices using Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet, while staying current with industry trends and delivering scalable data products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6 years of experience in Enterprise, Business, Information, Systems and Application, Solution Architectures.
• Strong expertise in enterprise-scale IT solutions across multiple platforms and technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.
• Proficiency in API design, microservices, and message queuing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the organization's IT architecture framework aligned with business objectives.
• Lead development and maintenance of the IT architecture framework to align with objectives and technologies.
• Provide technical leadership to architecture and development teams ensuring adherence to principles and standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions meeting functional and non-functional needs.
• Design end-to-end IT solutions including infrastructure, applications, data, and security components.
• Evaluate technologies to enhance IT capabilities and drive innovation.
• Lead architectural reviews and guide development teams to adhere to principles and guidelines.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks through planning and communication.
• Define and maintain IT architecture documentation (diagrams, policies, procedures).
• Stay current with industry trends and apply knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
• Measurably impact company performance by delivering high quality, scalable data products.

Job Overview

The Senior Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the overall architecture of our IT systems to support the organization's current and future needs. The Senior Architect will have a strong background in IT infrastructure, systems integration, and software development, with the ability to analyze complex problems and design innovative solutions. He/she will be responsible for providing strategic direction, designing complex IT solutions, and mentoring junior architects.

• Develop and maintain the organization's IT architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Lead the development and maintenance of the organization's IT architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to architecture and development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles, standards, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design end-to-end IT solutions, including infrastructure, applications, data, and security components, to support business processes and workflows.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the organization's IT capabilities and drive innovation.
• Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance to development teams to ensure adherence to architectural principles, standards, and guidelines.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks and issues through proactive planning and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Define and maintain documentation related to IT architecture, including diagrams, standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications (Minimum Required)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience (Minimum Required)

• 6 years of experience in Enterprise, Business, Information, Systems and Application, Solution Architectures.
• Strong expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale IT solutions across multiple platforms and technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.
• Proficiency in system integration techniques, including API design, microservices architecture, and message queuing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications Include

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience in pharmaceutical R and D, clinical development and/or healthcare IT.
