Job summary

Backbase in Kraków is seeking a Senior AI Applied Software Engineer to join our R&D team. You will own end-to-end SDLC for complex digital banking features, balancing backend and frontend efforts, and guiding architectural decisions.

You will lead architectural excellence and mentor peers while shaping AI-driven personalization and secure, scalable solutions. Hybrid work with a focus on high-impact engineering.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of professional experience building complex, high-traffic products.
• Strong frontend mastery with Angular and TypeScript; experience with RxJS is essential.
• Backend exposure to Java, Spring JPA/Hibernate, Maven, microservices, and cloud tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire lifecycle of digital banking products—from initial idea and architectural design to release and maintenance.
• Improve system architecture and design components that integrate across APIs and microservices.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct critical code reviews, and raise engineering standards.
• Contribute to evolution of AI features including LLM-based voice assistants and real-time personalization.
• Implement Entitlements and fraud prevention with focus on security, scalability, and resilience.
• Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, and UX Designers to align solutions with business needs.
