Job summary

ABC Fitness is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for AI Product Incubation in Poland. You will join a Poland-based embedded product squad to bring new AI capabilities from idea to market, building on our AI platform services while focusing on customer problems, product experiences, and measurable outcomes.

Senior Software Engineer, AI Product Incubation

As Senior Software Engineer, AI Product Incubation, you will join a new Poland – based embedded product squad focused on bringing new AI capabilities from idea to market. This is a product engineering role, not an AI research or platform role. You will build on top of ABC’s existing AI platform services, including our gateway, evaluation framework, retrieval patterns, and guardrails, so your focus can stay close to the customer problem, the product experience, and the measurable outcome. You will report to an Engineering Leader and partner closely with Product, Design, Data, AI platform, and other engineering teams to ship AI-enabled features that are useful, measurable and commercially ready.

What You’ll Do

• Build customer-facing AI product capabilities from early concept through production release, usage measurement, and iteration.
• Turn ambiguous product opportunities into small, testable slices that can be validated with real users, real data, or real customer workflows.
• Partner with Product and Design to define what “good enough” means for AI-enabled experiences based on user need, workflow risk, and customer impact.
• Use existing AI platform capabilities, including retrieval, evaluation, guardrails, prompts, models, and observability, to deliver reliable product experiences without owning the platform itself.
• Ship features behind flags, monitor early usage and quality signals, and improve the product based on what customers actually do.
• Design graceful failure paths for moments when AI output is wrong, slow, incomplete, or unavailable.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to increase speed while reviewing, testing, and owning the code you ship.
• Support production readiness, operational follow-through, and incident learning for the capabilities you deliver.

What You’ll Need

• Experience shipping customer-facing software products to real users in a production environment.
• Hands‑on experience building or contributing to AI‑enabled product features, not only demos, proofs of concept, internal tools, or prompt experiments.
• Strong product judgment: you can connect technical decisions to user value, adoption, trust, and business outcomes.
• Comfort working with probabilistic systems, including defining quality expectations, evaluating outputs, understanding failure modes, and making risk‑based launch decisions.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, code review, automated testing, observability, CI/CD, and production ownership.
• Ability to work effectively in a new, fast‑moving product squad with ambiguity, short feedback loops, and evolving priorities.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration with Product, Design, Data, Security, AI platform, and customer‑facing teams.
• Accountability for outcomes beyond launch, including adoption signals, reliability, customer feedback, and whether a feature should be improved, paused, or retired.

And What’s Great to Have

• Experience building AI‑enabled workflows in SaaS, vertical software, fintech, payments, customer operations, sales automation, scheduling, retention, or member engagement.
• Experience with retrieval‑augmented generation, LLM evaluation, prompt iteration, model selection, or AI observability.
• Experience instrumenting product usage and quality metrics for new features.
• Experience working in distributed, async product engineering teams.
• Familiarity with responsible AI practices, including human review, permissions, privacy, auditability, and user trust.

• New AI‑enabled product capabilities reach customers and support commercial readiness or customer sales.
• Features are launched in small increments, measured with clear quality and adoption signals, and improved based on real usage.
• AI experiences are useful, trustworthy, and resilient when outputs are uncertain, delayed, or imperfect.
• The product squad learns quickly which capabilities create customer value and which should be changed or retired.
• Engineering, Product, Design, Data, and AI platform partners have a clear, repeatable way of moving AI product ideas into production.

Compensation

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and market considerations. The anticipated compensation range for this position is - 280,000.00 - 300,000.00 PLN- annually. In addition to base compensation, eligible employees may be offered other forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commissions, equity, or other incentive programs, where applicable. Compensation and benefits may vary by location and are subject to applicable legal, business, and market requirements.
