In this role, you will design, build, and maintain intelligent integrations across enterprise applications, AI services, and data platforms. This role combines hands‑on Workato development with AI tool integration, API engineering, workflow automation, and data management.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement integrations and automated workflows using Workato
- Connect enterprise platforms, databases, APIs, and AI services using prebuilt connectors, custom connectors, webhooks, and REST/SOAP APIs
- Integrate generative AI, machine learning, NLP, document-processing, and intelligent automation tools into business workflows
- Develop AI-enabled solutions such as copilots, knowledge assistants, document extraction, classification, summarization, and decision-support workflows
- Design secure data pipelines, mappings, transformations, validation rules, and synchronization processes
- Establish data-quality, governance, lineage, retention, privacy, and access-control practices
- Build reusable integration components and define standards for error handling, logging, monitoring, retry logic, and alerting
- Implement responsible‑AI controls, including human review, prompt safeguards, output validation, and protection of sensitive data
- Troubleshoot production integrations, resolve performance issues, and conduct root-cause analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, security teams, data engineers, and application owners
- Produce technical designs, data-flow diagrams, test plans, runbooks, and operational documentation
- Support testing, deployment, release management, and continuous improvement of integration solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years of experience in integration engineering, automation, data engineering, or a related role
- Hands‑on experience building and supporting production workflows in Workato
- Strong understanding of recipes, connections, triggers, actions, callable recipes, lookup tables, environments, and error handling
- Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, API keys, and common authentication patterns
- Experience integrating AI services, large language models, or machine‑learning APIs into business processes
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases, cloud data platforms, or data warehouses
- Knowledge of data mapping, transformation, validation, deduplication, synchronization, and master‑data concepts
- Experience with Git, CI/CD practices, testing, monitoring, and production support
- Workato Automation Pro or a related Workato certification is considered an advantage
- Previous experience with platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, NetSuite, Workday, SAP, Snowflake, Databricks, or Microsoft Dynamics is highly valued
- Exposure to AI platforms and tools such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or Anthropic is a plus
- Familiarity with retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, or AI‑agent workflows is beneficial
- Knowledge of Python or JavaScript for custom integration logic is an additional asset
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder‑communication skills
