Job summary

F5 Networks seeks a Senior Security Engineer, AI & Automation, to design, review, and operate automation and AI capabilities that enhance Security Operations. This senior technical role focuses on scalable platforms, integrations, and agentic workflows with strong safety and auditability.

The ideal candidate combines software engineering, automation, and practical AI experience to deploy secure automation that supports Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, and Detection Engineering at scale.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years in software, security, or automation engineering roles.
Advanced proficiency in Python and GitLab CI/CD for production pipelines.
Experience building API-driven integrations using REST APIs and OAuth.
Experience designing or operating AI-assisted, agentic or LLM-based solutions.
Strong written communication for ADRs, design docs, and reviews.

Responsibilities

Design and develop production-grade automation and AI capabilities to scale security operations.
Review and approve CI/CD pipelines, automation workflows, and AI-enabled systems.
Build and maintain API-driven integrations across security technologies and cloud services.
Lead agentic and AI-assisted workflows with guardrails and auditability.
Establish engineering standards for automation development and platform reliability.
Partner with IR, Threat Intelligence, and platform teams to identify scalable use cases.
