As a Senior Accountant- Client Invoicing at GeoComply, you will be critical in ensuring accurate and timely billing for our clients. This senior role requires deep expertise and a high degree of autonomy, driving significant improvements in billing accuracy, efficiency, and cost optimization across the organization. You will act as a subject matter expert, integrating and optimizing billing platforms and developing sophisticated financial models. This position involves close collaboration with Finance, Sales, Legal, and Customer Success teams to manage invoicing, reconcile accounts, and analyze billing data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Billing and Invoicing:
  • Expertly prepare, review, and process customer invoices with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and client agreements in billing.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve highly complex and ambiguous discrepancies in billing or invoicing; drive process improvements.
  • Accounts Receivable and Reconciliation:
  • Partner with Sales and our clients to collect outstanding balances, reconcile customer accounts, and investigate discrepancies.
  • Design and implement reconciliation processes, resolve highly complex issues, and ensure seamless month-end and year-end closing with the Finance team.
  • Customer Support and Communication:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for billing inquiries from clients, providing timely and professional support.
  • Present critical billing insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and work with Sales and Customer Success teams to address any account or billing-related issues.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Develop and implement billing processes, tools, and controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to support system updates and process automation, acting as a subject matter expert for the billing platform.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Develop advanced analytical models, forecast billing trends, and present strategic recommendations based on data.
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc billing reports, analyzing data for trends and accuracy.
  • Monitor billing metrics and KPIs to identify and drive significant improvements in billing efficiency and cost optimization across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in billing, accounting, or a similar finance-related role, demonstrating a senior level of expertise.
  • Deep expertise in cloud billing models, cost management strategies, and optimizing cloud spend across multiple platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Skills and Abilities
  • Expert in billing software, able to customize, integrate, and optimize the platform; capable of advanced configurations, troubleshooting, and reporting (experience with NetSuite and/or ZoneBilling is a plus).
  • Develops sophisticated spreadsheet models for financial analysis and automation, proficient in advanced functions (e.g., macros, power query).
  • Operates with a high degree of autonomy; proactively identifies areas for improvement and takes ownership of solutions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing data.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal), with the ability to articulate complex billing concepts and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several Global markets. The salary for this position ranges from $152,000/year up to $190,000/year. Pay is based on several factors evaluated throughout the interview, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
