Job summary

ICEYE, a global space-based ISR company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Group Accounting team in Warsaw or Espoo. You’ll own journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and subsidiary oversight to support monthly closings and consolidation.

You’ll collaborate with finance, engineering and manufacturing, drive process standardisation, and contribute to NetSuite enhancements while upholding IFRS and tax compliance in a fast-growing multinational environment.

Qualifications

• At least 4–5 years of general ledger accounting experience in a multinational or high-growth environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; professional qualification is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with AI and automation in accounting processes; able to provide concrete examples.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day general ledger and controlling activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Identify opportunities for AI/automation to scale output and improve efficiency.
• Support monthly group closing and consolidation, ensuring data accuracy across entities.
• Oversee subsidiaries, ensuring adherence to group policies and reporting timelines.
• Contribute to IFRS footnotes and consolidated reporting; support parent tax reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, and Global Manufacturing to ensure accurate data flow.
• Drive standardisation and scalability of GL processes in a multinational setting; improve controls.
• Propose and implement process improvements to mitigate risks.
• Support NetSuite development, configuration improvements, and testing.
• Assist with year-end audit documentation and explanations.

About the role

As ICEYE continues its rapid global expansion, our Finance organization is scaling to match the pace and ambition of the company. We are now seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Group Accounting team and play a central role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations. Based in Warsaw or Espoo, and reporting to the Group Accounting Senior Manager, you will be a key contributor in our monthly group closing and consolidation process, taking ownership of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and subsidiary oversight.

In this role, you will work at the heart of a fast‑moving, international environment where accounting plays a critical role in enabling confident decision‑making and supporting ICEYE’s growth trajectory. What you will do

Execute day‑to‑day general ledger and controlling activities, including timely and accurate booking of journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations. In addition, you will:

• Identify potential for and apply AI and automation tools to scale output and drive efficiency.




• Support the monthly group closing, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of group and subsidiary financial data.




• Oversight of subsidiaries, acting as a point of contact to ensure adherence to group policies, reporting timelines, and quality requirements.




• Contribute to the preparation of financial reporting deliverables, including IFRS footnotes for consolidated statements and FAS reporting for the parent.




• Collaborate closely with Business Finance, Engineering, Global Manufacturing, and other teams to ensure accurate financial data, alignment on business activities, and timely information flow.




• Drive standardisation and scalability of general ledger processes in a rapidly expanding multinational environment, promoting consistency, efficiency, and quality across entities.




• Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and mitigate risks before they materialise.




• Support the development and optimisation of NetSuite by contributing to design requirements, configuration improvements, workflow enhancements, and testing activities.




• Assist with year‑end audit activities, providing accurate documentation and timely explanations.

Role‑specific Competences

• You have at least 4-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, ideally in a high‑growth, multinational environment.




• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.




• Tangible, hands‑on experience with AI and automation, demonstrated through concrete examples (beyond prompting).




• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, including IFRS, and tax compliance.




• Exposure to and experience in financial transformation, including process and ERP development initiatives.




• Self‑motivated, proactive, with the ability to see the bigger picture.




• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite tools and infrastructure.




• You have excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.




• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).

In addition to the above, the following are considered advantageous:

• In the process of obtaining or in possession of a professional accounting qualification e.g. CA, ACCA, CPA, or similar.




• Experience working within the Big 4 .




• Knowledge of Finnish Accounting Standards
