KOSTAL Automotive specializes in the development and production of advanced electronic, electromechanical, and mechatronic components for the automotive industry.
As part of our growth strategy, we are building a new manufacturing plant with increased production capacity.
This facility focuses on the efficient generation, use, and storage of energy, with the goal of expanding our operations and promoting the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable technologies with a lower environmental impact.
- Together with the Chief Accountant, maintain full accounting for two manufacturing companies in compliance with applicable regulations (Polish Accounting Act) and the requirements of the Group (German HGB standards).
- Responsibility for selected areas of accounting, in particular:
- Fixed assets and intangible assets
- Foreign exchange differences
- Cash pooling, intra-group netting
- Withholding tax (WHT)
- Accruals, reserves
- Payroll and employee benefits postings
- Settlement and posting of business trips
- Other employee settlements
- Reconciliation of intercompany balances within the Group
- Support in the sales invoicing process, issuing invoice corrections, self-billing processes with suppliers and customers
- Analysis of transactions on general ledger and subledger accounts (receivables and payables), responsibility for account balance accuracy, clearing open items.
- Participation in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings according to Group and local requirements (Polish Accounting Act, tax regulations).
- Active involvement in the preparation of financial reports (monthly and annual) and participation in financial statement audits.
- Provide expert support to local accounting team members and foreign SSC (Shared Services Center) regarding local tax and accounting requirements, respond to accounting and tax inquiries, and prepare process instructions (including for other departments like purchasing, logistics, sales).
- Active involvement in various finance, accounting, and tax projects, such as:
- Implementation of KSeF (National e-Invoicing System), JPK-CIT (Standard Audit File for CIT)
- New or modified SAP processes (in cooperation with the Group IT department)
- Financial process optimization
- Enhancing and controlling the electronic document workflow system (ReadSoft)
- Participation in other Group-wide projects
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and implement them in accounting processes, liaise with tax advisors for expert opinions.
- Assist in preparing transfer pricing documentation in cooperation with the Group and external advisors.
- Review transactions for compliance with VAT and CIT regulations (including international trade: intra-community supplies/acquisitions, import/export, VAT application and reverse charge rules).
- Prepare accurate VAT registers and declarations (JPK-VAT files) and EU VAT reports; submit corrections as needed.
- Calculate current and deferred corporate income tax (CIT), prepare CIT, WHT, and other required tax returns.
- Prepare reports for the National Bank of Poland (NBP) and the Central Statistical Office (GUS).
- Work closely with and support the Chief Accountant in daily duties.
- Contact tax authorities regarding current matters (especially VAT and EU VAT transactions) and during tax audits or inquiries.
- Work in an international environment within a corporate group using English on a daily basis.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role as independent accountant, accounting team leader, or deputy chief accountant in a large manufacturing company (turnover above 50 million PLN), covering various areas of accounting.
- Very good knowledge of Polish tax regulations (VAT, CIT) and the Polish Accounting Act.
- Experience in independently preparing JPK-VAT declarations and calculating CIT.
- Experience in preparing full financial statements for large entities and participating in audits.
- Fluent Polish – mandatory.
- English at a minimum B2 level – mandatory (for communication in an international work environment).
- University degree in Economics or related fields.
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP).
- Willingness to work in a fast-growing organization (production launch in Poland in 2024), including process creation and implementation.
- Independence in task execution, excellent work organization, analytical thinking, and ability to find solutions independently.
- Team player with the ability to support colleagues.
