Job summary

Cognism is seeking a Director of Security Engineering & Operations to define and drive the security strategy for its web and data products, data fusion engine, and corporate environment. You will own the security program from threat modelling to incident response, partnering with product and IT leaders to raise the security bar.

You will mentor a team of security engineers, embed secure-by-design principles, and ensure robust risk management across engineering velocity and external partnerships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building security programmes in product-led engineering orgs.
• Ability to communicate risk to execs and engineers.
• Experience managing external security partners (SOC, pentesting) and driving performance.

Responsibilities

• Define Cognism's technical security strategy embedded in web and data products.
• Direct secure SDLC adoption and threat modelling program.
• Lead governance for data pipelines, access governance, and secrets management.
• Own strategic relationship with 24/7 SOC and SIEM for proactive defense.
• Mentor security engineers and build trust with engineering teams.
