Job summary

VirtusLab is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to shape the enterprise security function for a rapidly scaling UK insurance group. The role focuses on hardening a hybrid Microsoft environment, implementing Zero Trust, and aligning IAM, SIEM, and policy frameworks across multiple entities.

You will work with external MDR partners, define security baselines, and drive governance for Microsoft Stack (Entra ID, Defender, Sentinel, Purview) while supporting M&A integration.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing Zero Trust and hybrid AD security.
• Proven incident response and security operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of M365/Azure security controls and IAM.
• Experience with SIEM/SOAR integration and automation.
• Ability to work with cross-continental teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Deploy Defender XDR and onboard entities to Defender stack.
• Implement Zero Trust controls across hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with MDR providers to optimize response workflows.
• Standardize security baselines and governance across entities.
• Secure cloud and SaaS ecosystems (M365, Azure, Purview).
• Lead integration of new acquisitions into security framework.
