Job summary

Swapcard is seeking a Security Engineer to join its security team. You will implement cloud security controls, strengthen IAM, and collaborate with IT, DevOps, and compliance teams to reduce risk.

You will respond to alerts, conduct investigations, and coordinate vulnerability management, patching, and remediation with stakeholders. This role supports a remote-friendly, ownership-driven culture and ongoing security improvements.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Security Engineering, SecOps, or Cloud Security.
  • Hands-on with AWS security configuration and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with EDR, MDM, DLP, and identity management (SSO, MFA).
  • Experience managing security agents on endpoints and coordinating with SOC services.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management processes and remediation coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Improve AWS security configurations (IAM, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, Inspector).
  • Manage security tools: EDR, MDM, DLP, and compliance agents.
  • Coordinate with IT to align laptops/endpoints to security baselines.
  • Review SOC alerts, investigate incidents, and drive remediation.
  • Lead vulnerability management and coordinate patching with IT/DevOps.
  • Improve WAF rules, anti-bot protections, and app-layer defenses.
  • Support access reviews, PCI-DSS reviews, and quarterly security tasks.
  • Document security configurations for cloud and SaaS tools.
  • Contribute to backup, DRP, and BCP testing with Infra/IT.
  • Provide input to security roadmap with practical ops improvements.

What you'll be doing?
  • Improve AWS security configurations (IAM, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, Amazon Inspector, etc.)
  • Manage and maintain security tools: EDR, MDM, DLP, compliance agents, etc
  • Coordinate with IT to ensure all laptops and endpoints follow security baselines
  • Review and respond to SOC provider alerts, investigate incidents, and manage the final remediation phase
  • Perform vulnerability management and coordinate patching with IT and DevOps
  • Improve and maintain WAF rules, anti-bot protections, and other application-layer defenses
  • Support access reviews, PCI-DSS reviews, and quarterly/monthly security tasks
  • Document and implement security configurations for cloud and SaaS tools
  • Contribute to Backup, DRP, and BCP testing in collaboration with Infra/IT teams
  • Provide input to security roadmap planning with practical improvements from operations
What you should have?
  • 3+ years of experience in Security Engineering, SecOps, or Cloud Security
  • Hands-on experience with AWS security configuration and monitoring
  • Familiarity with EDR, MDM, DLP, and identity management (SSO, MFA)
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting security agents on endpoints
  • Knowledge of incident investigation and coordination with SOC services
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management processes
  • Comfortable collaborating with IT, DevOps, and compliance teams
Bonus Points
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code security (Terraform)
  • Knowledge of container security (Kubernetes, Helm)
  • Experience automating security tasks with scripts or CI/CD integrations
  • Exposure to SOC 2, PCI-DSS or ISO 27001 evidence collection and audits
  • Interest in continuous improvement and tool optimization
