Job summary

York High School is seeking a dependable Custodian to join our facilities team. You will help keep the school safe, clean, and welcoming for students, staff, and the community.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms and common areas, handling trash and floor care, assisting with light maintenance and event setup, and responding promptly to spills and hazards. Prior custodial experience is a plus; training is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities work is a plus, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing classrooms, hallways, and restrooms.
• Handle trash removal and routine floor care (stripping, waxing, buffing as needed).
• Assist with basic maintenance, light repairs, and seasonal setup/breakdown for events and athletics.
• Respond promptly to routine cleaning requests and minor spills or hazards.
