Position Summary

Under direction of the Director - Central Fill, the Sales Engineer (SE) is responsible for growing the Central Fill client base and driving revenue by identifying and closing new opportunities for coordinated high-volume pharmacy fulfillment solutions. The SE is a domain expert who will apply proven experience and technical acuity to analyze process requirements and develop fulfillment solutions from BD-Parata’s product portfolio. The SE will articulate the solution’s value to internal and external stakeholders as part of the Central Fill sales process.

Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, have knowledge of automation processes and pharmacy workflow, be able to interpret and generate CAD drawings, and have prior experience with sophisticated capital equipment systems procurement.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Travels to customer sites and supports the segment sales teams as a domain expert in high-volume system design and deployment.

  • Educates and motivates sales teams to identify and pursue appropriate new prospects.

  • Evaluates and prioritizes potential opportunities based on organizational directives.

  • Functions as liaison between internal resources, external vendors and clients for coordinating BD-Parata design/proposal response.

  • Applies data to guide design of creative solutions that differentiate BD-Parata from its competition.

  • Compiles customer-facing proposals and maintains current account records using approved management tools (SalesForce).

  • Contributes to response effort for customer RFI/RFP inquiries.

  • Maintains regular contact with the installed base and identifies opportunities for system expansion or enhancement.

  • Assists in other aspects of Central Fill operations, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Well-organized with a proven track record to manage multiple sophisticated projects and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of pharmacy dispensing processes & standard methodologies, including nuanced state laws.

  • Interpret process data and relate it to solution design.

  • Ability to interpret process data and relate it to robotics and conveyor-based fulfillment operation design.

  • Work with design engineers, pharmacy consultants, and pharmacy personnel to identify equipment layout, system operations, and workflow.

  • Ability to follow design standards and apply system modeling tools.

  • Solid understanding of IT network design principles.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD & Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to travel up to 60%.

Requirements
  • BS/BA from an accredited 4-year university in Engineering, Industrial Automation or related technical field.

  • 7-10+ years of experience in capital equipment sales/sales support roles.

  • Expert understanding of processes pertaining to medication administration, documentation, medication order flow, and medication dispensing systems.

  • Understanding of the impact of automation systems in the pharmacy environment.
