Hitachi Energy is seeking a Research Scientist to tackle dielectric design, insulation materials, and reliability challenges in next-generation energy systems. You will work with global teams on advanced simulations, experimental validation, and technology development to advance high-voltage products.

The role combines research with engineering analysis, offering opportunities to publish, file patents, and shape technology roadmaps in an international setting.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in dielectric phenomena and electrical insulation systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, thermal, magnetic and materials interactions.
• Experience with multiphysics analysis and modeling tools (Ansys, COMSOL, MATLAB or Python).
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to R&D projects on advanced electrical insulation technologies.
• Develop innovative solutions to improve performance, reliability, and sustainability of energy products.
• Apply engineering and simulation methods to dielectric problems and coupled processes.
• Collaborate with global teams and product development to meet technology needs.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies for industrial applications.
• Translate findings into practical recommendations for roadmaps and design.
• Contribute to patents, reports, publications, and conferences.
• Build collaborations with universities and research institutes.
