Job summary

Aurora Energy Research in Warsaw is seeking a quantitative analyst to develop analyses and convey insights that enhance clients’ decision making. You will form hypotheses, conduct analyses, model power markets, and synthesize conclusions into recommendations to guide utilities, investors, and government through energy transition in Poland, Czechia and Slovakia.

Qualifications

• A university degree in a quantitative subject with interest in policy developments or social/environmental studies, coupled with interest in quantitative analysis.
• Ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex data and information.
• Evidence of strong performance in team‑oriented environments.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non‑technical parties.
• Full professional fluency in English and Polish.

Responsibilities

• Develop timely and rigorous quantitative analyses to enhance clients’ decision making.
• Work with the modelling team, structuring economic problems into quantifiable analyses and deriving insights from model results.
• Engage with clients to understand requirements.
• Communicate findings to clients, turning analysis into insight with compelling presentations.
• Contribute to Aurora’s product development by identifying new opportunities and expanding capabilities.

Joining our Warsaw team, you will contribute to the company's work by developing analyses and conveying insights to enhance clients’ decision making. This means forming hypotheses, conducting analyses, modelling and explaining power markets, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations. In doing so, you will help to guide utilities, investors, and the government through the fundamental transition of the Polish, Czech and Slovak power markets, facing a rapid move away from coal towards renewables and batteries. There will be opportunities to present your results in meetings and workshops.

Joining our Warsaw team, you will contribute to the company's work by developing analyses and conveying insights to enhance clients’ decision making. This means forming hypotheses, conducting analyses, modelling and explaining power markets, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations. In doing so, you will help to guide utilities, investors, and the government through the fundamental transition of the Polish, Czech and Slovak power markets, facing a rapid move away from coal towards renewables and batteries. There will be opportunities to present your results in meetings and workshops.

The position suits a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme or a person with hands‑on experience within the energy sector, consulting or research. The exact entry position will be dependent on experience and educational level. • Work closely with our modelling team, structuring economic problems into quantifiable analyses and deriving insights from the model results
• Engage with clients to thoroughly understand their requirements
• Communicate findings to clients, turning analysis to insight by creating compelling presentations
• Contribute to Aurora’s product development, by identifying new opportunities and expanding our capabilities

What We Are Looking For

Required attributes:

• A university degree in either a quantitative subject, coupled with a keen interest in policy developments or a social science, environmental studies or a related field, coupled with an interest in quantitative analysis
• An ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex data and information
• Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments
• An ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical parties
• Full professional fluency in English and Polish

Desirable attributes:

• Enthusiasm for energy markets: previous professional or academic exposure to energy beneficial
• Demonstrated success in project management (professionally or e.g. at university)
• Understanding of the Polish/Czech/Slovak energy sector and challenges
• Proficiency in Slovak or Czech
